CCDS 2024 Convention
June 1 & 2, Online

The National Executive Committee, in conjunction with CCDS bylaws, decided to call its national convention for June1-2, 2024. This will be the 30th anniversary of its founding. Since it will be a very important gathering to reflect on our past and most critically to decide on our future the Convention will be virtual. All of us will be able to attend.

Tentatively, we will have a prominent key note speaker on Saturday morning to address “The Time of Day” in which we live and work. This talk will be followed by several panels on the issues CCDS prioritizes.

In some ways the most important work of the Convention will take place on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning when we discuss the work of our key committees and address the organizational and policy future of CCDS.

To discuss the future of CCDS we are encouraging members to submit in writing their views on a variety of subjects such as:

  • the organizational structure of CCDS
  • priorities and policies
  • the relative importance of theory, education, and practice
  • publications and educational materials
  • committees
  • issues of declining membership, inadequate diversity of membership, and possible outreach

To this end we urge you to submit your comments (whether they be short or long) to our google docs site*. We will encourage members to read them in advance of the convention so our discussion can be enriched.

In addition, please consider submitting proposals to amend our bylaws, which can be viewed online Here

We will also be electing new leadership – Co-Chairs and National Coordinating Committee (NCC) Members. To nominate someone — could be yourself! — you need to be a CCDS member in good standing. To do so, or for more information, Click Here

We are looking forward to a serious, important, and lively discussion of the CCDS future at this our 30-year anniversary of our founding.
